Surgical Procedures

We understand that having your pet undergo surgery can be a very anxious time. We strive to ensure that your pet's surgical procedure is as comfortable and stress-free as possible for both of you.

It is our intention to provide our clients with a clear understanding of why a particular procedure is necessary, by explaining what the procedure entails, proper post-operative care, and any other information you may need to feel comfortable that you are making the right decision for your pet.

We offer a range of surgical procedures - from mass removals, spay and neuter procedures, eye enucleation (removal), and even cherry eye surgery. Dr. Brown makes sure that every surgery we do is essential by requiring a Pre-Operative Visit to ensure that your pet is safe and well taken care of before, during, and after the procedure. We provide estimates, alternate options when applicable, and post-operative care.

Every surgical procedure is preceded by and in-house Pre-Anesthetic bloodwork panel to give us a look into your pet's liver and kidney function to know if they are well enough to withstand the anesthesia. If you have a senior pet, an EKG or echocardiogram, is done as well to check the pet's cardiac (heart) function. We use state-of-the-art surgical monitoring, and even have a nurse dedicated specifically to your pet for the day, so they will be with them every moment they are here!

We pride ourselves on the compassionate and thorough care we provide for Lowcountry pets, and are always ready and willing to answer any questions you may have before, during, and after the surgery day.
