If you are in the military and have pets, please be aware that if you are sent to your next duty station, it is your responsibility to make sure your pet has all of the necessary documents, vaccinations, and preventatives. There are some places such as Hawaii, Japan, Guam and England which have extremely strict import rules and regulations. There are specific vaccines and bloodwork requirements that need to be done before you leave with your pet. This process can take 4-6 months to complete. If you are not prepared and the pet does not meet the proper requirements it will be subjected to a quarantine, sometimes 30 to 120 days depending on the destination. These quarantines may have additional fees if they are required to stay at a specific facility, and in some cases pet's may be denied entry into the state/province/country.
Please contact your military official(s) for the proper paperwork depending on your next assignment. You will need to bring this information with you for your visit here. Remember, you are responsible for keeping up with appointment dates and fees, not only with us but also when you arrive to your destination and with the State Vet. It is also important to note, rules and regulations are subject to change depending on what the place of import mandates.
